About Ignite

How we started

Ignite was born out of USC Viterbi's "Lives Not Grades" program, focused on innovative solutions for global crises. Over 16 weeks, we extensively researched the challenges faced by Ukrainians amid the 2022 full scale invasion. Our conversations have revealed a prevailing concern: the world was getting desensitized to war and injustice. This realization sparked the creation of Ignite — to transform the way stories of war are told.

The Ignite Experience

As a team of women, we've chosen to spotlight the often-overlooked stories of women affected by war. Our immersive in-person experience engages all senses, employing the latest interactive technologies. We bring people up close and personal to these narratives, to ignite empathy, action, and change. We begin with the war in Ukraine, with plans to expand to cover other global crises.

Team of Innovators

With diverse backgrounds and expertise, we've partnered with Film and Digital Interactive Arts experts from Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai to create our immersive in-person experiences. In just 2-3 months, we established a robust global, cross-cultural collaboration and developed a pilot experience that validated the impact of our storytelling approach.
